Flyers Sign Aubin to One-Year Contract
The Philadelphia Flyers announced on Thursday that they have signed goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. Aubin played in 19 games for the Los Angeles Kings last season, posting a 5-6-1 record with a 3.19 goals-against average. He was traded to the Anaheim Ducks for a 7th round pick in the 2008 draft at the trade deadline, but did not play in any games for Anaheim. With Antero Niittymaki sidelined four to six weeks after undergoing hip surgery, the Flyers were in obvious need of some goaltending depth. Aubin gives the team the depth they need in goal and will likely be sent to the minors when Niittymaki returns.
