Stars Sign Defenseman Skrastins to Two-Year Contract
The Dallas Stars announced on Thursday that they have signed veteran defenseman Karlis Skrastins to a two-year contract worth $2.75 million. The deal averages out to $1.375 million per season. In 80 games last season with the Florida Panthers, Skrastins scored four goals and 14 assists for 18 points. In 679 career games with the Panthers, Nashville Predators, and Colorado Avalanche, he has 27 goals and 88 assists for 115 points. This is a decent signing for the Stars, as Skrastins will provide some much-needed defensive depth to their blueline and will likely play on the second defensive pairing next season.
