Rangers Claim Christensen Off Waivers from the Ducks
The New York Rangers have announced that they have claimed center Erik Christensen off waivers from the Anaheim Ducks. This move comes in the wake of the Ducks acquiring center Kyle Chipchura from the Montreal Canadiens, thus making Christensen expendable. In only 11 games so far this season, Christensen has yet to record a point. He has been a healthy scratch for much of the season and had recently popped up in trade rumors. This is really just a depth move for the Rangers, as Christensen has struggled to put up decent offensive numbers that past two seasons. Perhaps a change of scenery will help him gain some offensive flair, but for now, he will likely center the third or fourth line.
