Canucks Acquire Yan Stastny from Blues

The Vancouver Canucks made a minor trade today by acquiring center Yan Stastny from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for minor-league left wing Pierre-Cedric Labrie. In four games with the Blues this season, Stastny has one goal. He will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. Labrie has played in 45 games this season with the Manitoba Moose of the AHL, scoring five goals and one assist for six points and 69 penalty minutes. He has yet to appear in an NHL game. This is really just a minor trade for both teams. Stastny will bring the Canucks plenty of third or fourth line offensive depth. Labrie will likely finish the season in the minors, where he will brings lots of toughness and grit to the Blues' AHL affiliate in Peoria.
