Oilers Claim Forward Jones Off Waivers From Predators

The Edmonton Oilers announced today that they have claimed left wing Ryan Jones off waivers from the Nashville Predators. In 41 games with the Predators this season, he has seven goals and four assists for 11 points. He was originally acquired by the Predators in 2008 in the trade that sent Marek Zidlicky to the Minnesota Wild. Not a bad addition by the Oilers, as Jones has plenty of offensive potential and goal-scoring skill. For now, he will likely bring plenty of offensive depth on the third or fourth line for the Oilers.
