Blue Jackets Re-Sign Forward Chad Kolarik

The Columbus Blue Jackets have announced that they have re-signed right wing Chad Kolarik to a one-year contract. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. He was acquired by the Blue Jackets on March 3 from the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for forward Alexandre Picard. In two NHL games last season with Columbus, Kolarik had no points. He also appeared in 76 games with San Antonio and Syracuse of the AHL, scoring 26 goals and 24 assists for 50 points. Not a bad depth move for the Blue Jackets, as Kolarik has some scoring upside and offensive potential. If he impresses enough at training camp, he could possibly earn a fourth line role in Columbus next season.
