The Boston Bruins announced today that they have signed goaltender Nolan Schaefer to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In 22 games last season with CSKA Moscow of the KHL, he posted a 6-10-1 record, one shutout, a 2.66 GAA, and a .895 save percentage. This is really just a depth signing for the Bruins, as they are already set in goal for next season with Tuukka Rask and Tim Thomas. Schaefer will likely spend most, if not all, of next season in the minors.
