Capitals Re-Sign Tomas Fleischmann to One-Year Deal
The Washington Capitals have announced that they have avoided salary arbitration with left wing Tomas Fleischmann and re-signed him to a one-year contract worth $2.6 million. In 69 games last season with the Capitals, he had 23 goals and 28 assists for 51 points. He also appeared in two games with Hershey of the AHL on a conditioning assignment after missing 10 NHL games with a blood clot in his leg. In those two games, he had one assist. Not a bad signing for Washington, as Fleischmann brings plenty of offensive depth to the wing. He's got some goal-scoring skill, is good on the power play, and can also play center, making him an effective top-six forward for the team.
