The Calgary Flames announced tonight that they have signed center Ryan Stone to a one-year contract worth $500,000. If he is sent to the
AHL, he will make $105,000. In 27 games last season with the Edmonton
Oilers, he had six assists and 48 penalty minutes. He missed more than half the 2009-10 season after having arthroscopic knee surgery on October 22, 2009. Really just a depth signing for the Flames, Stone should bring some toughness to the wing if he plays on the team next season.
