The Detroit Red Wings announced today that they have signed right wing Patrick Eaves to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In 65 games last season with Detroit, he had 12 goals and 10 assists for 22 points. Not a bad signing for the Red Wings, as Eaves is a good skater, has a little offensive upside, and is versatile enough to play both wings. He should continue to be a good fit to Detroit's checking lines next season.
