Sabres Sign Defenseman Tim Conboy to One-Year Contract
The Buffalo Sabres have announced that they have signed defenseman Tim Conboy to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In 12 games last season with the Carolina Hurricanes, he had no points and 24 penalty minutes. He also appeared in 37 games with Albany of the AHL, scoring three assists and 87 penalty minutes. Not a bad depth signing for the Sabres, as Conboy plays with lots of toughness and has plenty of versatility since he can also play on the wing. However, he may have to compete for a roster spot at training camp with some of the Sabres' young and up-and-coming prospects.
