NY Islanders Sign Jeremy Colliton to One-Year Deal
The New York Islanders announced today that they have re-signed center Jeremy Colliton to a one-year, two-way contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. He last played in the NHL with the Islanders during the 2008-09 season, scoring one assist in six games. Last season, he played with Rogle Angelholm of the Swedish Elite League, scoring 11 goals and 10 assists for 21 points in 46 games. This is really just a depth signing for the Islanders, as it remains to be seen if Colliton will earn a roster spot on the team or end up in the minors. However, if he does secure a roster spot with the Islanders, he will bring a strong work ethic, skill to the penalty kill, and some offensive depth to the team.
