Ducks Acquire Brad Winchester from Blues
The Anaheim Ducks announced today that they have acquired left wing Brad Winchester from the St. Louis Blues in exchange for a third round pick in the 2012 Entry Draft. Winchester will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. In 57 games this season with the Blues, he has nine goals and five assists for 14 points and 86 penalty minutes. Not a bad move for the Ducks, as Winchester will bring lots of toughness and size to their team. The Ducks have become one of the more physical teams in the NHL, so Winchester's gritty style of play should fit in well there. For the Blues, they likely weren't going to retain Winchester this summer anyway, so they will be able to add a future asset with the draft pick.
