Flames Acquire Fredrik Modin from Thrashers
The Calgary Flames announced today that they have acquired left wing Fredrik Modin from the Atlanta Thrashers in exchange for a seventh round pick in the 2011 Entry Draft. Modin will be an unrestricted free agent this summer. In 36 games this season with the Thrashers, he has seven goals and three assists for 10 points. He has missed 22 games altogether this season due to injuries. Not a bad depth move for the Flames, as Modin will bring plenty of offensive skill, two-way ability, and goal-scoring insurance to the team. Despite being injury prone and a bit inconsistent, Modin is a solid veteran addition for the surging Flames.
