Flames Claim Brett Carson Off Waivers from Hurricanes
The Calgary Flames announced today that they have claimed defenseman Brett Carson off waivers from the Carolina Hurricanes. He will be a free agent this summer. In 13 games this season with Carolina, he has no points. He has also appeared in 38 games with Charlotte of the AHL, scoring four goals and 16 assists for 20 points. This is really just a depth move for the Flames, as Carson will likely be a seventh defenseman for the team. He does have good size and can chip in offensively, so he's not a bad option for the Flames if they should lose a defenseman to injury.
