Hurricanes Acquire Derek Joslin from Sharks
The Carolina Hurricanes announced today that they have acquired defenseman Derek Joslin from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for future considerations. He will be eligible for restricted free agency this summer. In 17 games with the Sharks this season, he has one goal and three assists for four points. Not a bad depth move for the Hurricanes, as Joslin is a mobile defenseman with some offensive upside and skill on the power play. He was seldom used by San Jose this season and likely wasn't going to advance up their depth chart very much. Landing with the Hurricanes should give him a chance to see more ice time.
