Oilers Sign Ryan Jones to Two-Year Extension
The Edmonton Oilers announced today that they have signed left wing Ryan Jones to a two-year contract extension. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. He would have been an unrestricted free agent on July 1. In 81 games this past season with the Oilers, he had 18 goals and seven assists for 25 points. Not a bad signing for the Oilers, as Jones was a fairly steady forward for the team last season. He has some offensive ability, good size, plays with some grit, and works hard on the ice. He should continue to be a good fit for the team over the next two years.
