Avalanche Sign Greg Mauldin to One-Year Contract
According to thehockeynews.com, the Colorado Avalanche have signed center Greg Mauldin to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. He would have been an unrestricted free agent on July 1. In 29 games last season with the Avalanche, he had five goals and five assists for 10 points. He also appeared in 43 games with Lake Erie of the AHL, scoring 18 goals and 17 assists for 35 points. This is really just a depth signing for the Avalanche, as Mauldin will likely spend much of next season in the minors. If he does see any time with Colorado, it will likely be on the fourth line and as an injury replacement.
