The Detroit Red Wings have announced that they have signed right wing Chris Conner to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In 60 games last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, he had seven goals and nine assists for 16 points. He also appeared in 11 games with Wilkes/Barre-Scranton of the AHL, scoring three goals and six assists for nine points. Given the depth already on Detroit's forward lines, Conner will spend the majority of next season in the minors. If he sees any time with the Red Wings, it will likely be as an injury replacement.
