Bruins Sign Andrew Bodnarchuk to One-Year Contract
The Boston Bruins have announced that they have signed defenseman Andrew Bodnarchuk to a one-year, two-way contract worth $635,250 at the NHL level and $67,500 at the AHL level. In 75 games last season with Providence of the AHL, he had one goal and 15 assists for 16 points and 91 penalty minutes. Not a bad depth signing for the Bruins, as Bodnarchuk plays a physical game and has some puck-moving skill. However, given the depth on Boston's blueline for next season, he will likely spend the majority of the 2011-12 campaign in the minors.
