The Vancouver Canucks announced today that they have re-signed left wing Aaron Volpatti to a one-year, two-way contract worth $600,000. He would have been an unrestricted free agent on July 1. In 23 games this past season, he had one goal and 37 penalty minutes. He missed 57 games with a shoulder injury. Not a bad depth signing for the Canucks, as Volpatti plays with lots of grit and toughness and is a good physical presence on the team. Look for him to play a fourth line role on the wing next season.
