Coyotes Sign Defenseman Adrian Aucoin to One-Year Contract

The Phoenix Coyotes added some veteran depth to their blueline on Thursday by signing defenseman Adrian Aucoin to a one-year contract. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. In 81 games last season with the Calgary Flames, Aucoin scored 10 goals and 24 assists for 34 points. In 851 career games with the Flames, Vancouver Canucks, Tampa Bay Lightning, New York Islanders, and Chicago Blackhawks, he has 108 goals and 228 assists for 336 points. Not a bad signing for the Coyotes, as Aucoin brings plenty of offensive depth, toughness, and experience to their defense. His presence on the blueline should make the Coyotes a better team defensively next season.
