Ducks Acquire Goaltender MacDonald from Maple Leafs
The Anaheim Ducks added some more goaltending depth to their roster today by acquiring goaltender Joey MacDonald from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a seventh round pick in the 2011 Entry Draft. Earlier in the day, the Ducks dealt goalie Vesa Toskala to Calgary for goalie Curtis McElhinney. In six games with the Maple Leafs this season, he has posted a 1-4-0 record with a 3.20 GAA and a .892 save percentage. Not a bad depth move for the Ducks, as MacDonald can be a decent backup when he is on his game. He could easily jump into the backup role if the newly acquired McElhinney should begin to struggle for the Ducks.
