Canucks Re-Sign Jannik Hansen to One-Year Deal
The Vancouver Canucks have announced that they have re-signed right wing Jannik Hansen to a one-year contract worth $825,000. He was awarded the contract in arbitration. In 47 games last season with the Canucks, he had nine goals and six assists for 15 points. He also appeared in five games with Manitoba of the AHL, scoring two assists. Not a bad signing for Vancouver, as Hansen is a decent two-way forward with good playmaking skills. Also, his deal is a very cap friendly contract for the team despite being $3 million over the salary cap. With Sami Salo currently sidelined with a torn Achilles tendon, the team can get some cap relief if he goes on long-term injured reserve. If he does, his $3.5 million salary won't count against their cap space.
