Hurricanes Re-Sign Pogge, Rodney, Carson

The Carolina Hurricanes have announced that they have re-signed goaltender Justin Pogge and defensemen Bryan Rodney and Brett Carson to one-year, two-way contracts. The financial terms of all three deals were not disclosed. These are really just depth signings for the team. Pogge could possibly play backup to Cam Ward next season, but will likely have to fight for the role at training camp with Justin Peters. Rodney and Carson both have plenty of offensive instincts on the blueline, but may end up battling with each other for the sixth or seventh defensive spot at training camp.
