Penguins Sign Defenseman Corey Potter to One-Year Deal
The Pittsburgh Penguins have announced that they have signed defenseman Corey Potter to a one-year, two-way contract worth $500,000. In three games last season with the New York Rangers, he had no points. He also appeared in 69 games with Hartford of the AHL, scoring four goals and 24 assists for 28 points. This is really just a depth signing for the Penguins. Potter has good mobility and size, but needs a little more consistency to his game in order to stick full-time in the NHL. He will likely spend most of next season in the minors, though.
