Capitals Sign Dany Sabourin to One-Year Extension

According to the hockeynews.com, the Washington Capitals have signed goaltender Dany Sabourin to a one-year contract extension. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. He would have been an unrestricted free agent on July 1. In 23 games last season with Hershey of the AHL, he posted a 14-9-0 record, two shutouts, a 2.45 GAA, and a .908 save percentage. Not a bad depth signing for the Capitals, as Sabourin will provide solid backup skills for the team if he is recalled from the minors at some point next season. Otherwise, expect him to spend most of the season with Hershey as their backup goaltender.
