Flames Sign Tim Jackman to Two-Year Extension

While the Calgary Flames didn't make any trades on Trade Deadline Day, they did announce that they re-signed right wing Tim Jackman to a two-year contract extension worth $1.225 million. The deal will average out to $612,500 per season. He would have been an unrestricted free agent this summer. In 62 games so far this season, he has one goal and six assists for seven points and 77 penalty minutes. Not a bad depth signing for the Flames, as Jackman brings a lot of toughness to the lineup. He has good size, loves to initiate contact, and plays a rugged game. Look for him to continue to play a checking line role over the next two seasons.

Flames Sign Forwards Ivanans, Jackman

The Calgary Flames added some toughness to their offense on Thursday by signing left wing Raitis Ivanans and right wing Tim Jackman to two-year contracts. Financial terms of both deals were not disclosed. These are really just depth signings for the Flames, as Ivanans and Jackman won't bring much offense to the team. They will, however, bring lots of grit and toughness to the lineup, as well as add two enforcers to the Flames.

Islanders Sign Jackman to One-Year Extension

The New York Islanders have announced that they have signed right wing Tim Jackman to a one-year contract extension worth $550,000. In 59 games so far this season, Jackman has four goals and four assists for eight points and 133 penalty minutes. He has also played with the Los Angeles Kings and Phoenix Coyotes in his four years in the NHL. This is a decent signing for the Islanders. Jackman has been a very gritty and physical forward for the Islanders this season on their checking lines. He obviously impressed management enough this year with his toughness to earn another contract with the team, and at $550,000, is a very affordable player for the Islanders.
