Lightning Sign Bruno Gervais to One-Year Deal

Just two days after acquiring defenseman Bruno Gervais from the New York Islanders, the Tampa Bay Lightning have signed him to a one-year contract worth $550,000. He would have been a restricted free agent on July 1. In 53 games last season with the Islanders, he had six assists. Not a bad depth signing for the Lightning, as Gervais will bring some puck-moving skill to their blueline next season as a sixth or seventh defenseman.
