Predators Re-Sign Forwards Joel Ward & Steve Sullivan

The Nashville Predators locked up two important parts of their team on Wednesday by signing right wing Joel Ward and left wing Steve Sullivan to two-year contracts. Ward’s deal is worth $3 million, which averages out to $1.5 million per season, while Sullivan’s contract is worth $7.5 million, which averages out to $3.75 million per season. Ward appeared in 79 games last season for the Predators, scoring 17 goals and 18 assists for 35 points. Sullivan played in 41 games last season after missing nearly one and a half seasons with a back injury. He scored 11 goals and 21 assists for 32 points, and also won the Masterton Trophy this past season for perseverance and dedication to hockey. In 764 career games with the New Jersey Devils, Toronto Maple Leafs, Chicago Blackhawks, and Nashville Predators, Sullivan has 239 goals and 370 assists for 609 points.

These are two excellent signings for the Predators. Ward was an excellent addition last summer as a free agent, showing he has plenty of goal-scoring and offensive potential. If his numbers improve next season, look for him to step into a top-six forward role for the Predators. Sullivan brings lots of offensive skill, leadership, and veteran depth to the team. As he showed last season, Sullivan should have no trouble bouncing back from his injury and will likely be one of the leading scorers on the Predators next season.

Finally a Predators comment! I think with Sully the Preds will click! Ward was a big signing too. Zanon not worth what The Wild payed, but he's solid.

Fiddler...well, I'm just sad because with a name like that he should be playing in Nashville!!!
