Wild Sign Defenseman Zanon to Three-Year Contract
The Minnesota Wild added to some depth to their blueline on Wednesday by signing defenseman Greg Zanon to a three-year contract worth $5.8 million. The deal averages out to $1.93 million per season. In all 82 games last season with the Nashville Predators, Zanon scored four goals and seven assists for 11 points. In 230 career games over four seasons with the Predators, he has seven goals and 19 assists for 26 points. Not a bad signing for the Wild, as Zanon will provide them with plenty of defensive depth, especially in the shot blocking department. He was third in the league last season in blocked shots with I believe 237, so this asset will make Zanon a very important part of the Wild’s penalty kill next season.
