Sabres Re-Sign Forward Whitmore

The Buffalo Sabres have announced that they have re-signed left wing Derek Whitmore to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In 78 games last season with Portland of the AHL, he had 18 goals and 16 assists for 34 points. This is rally nothing more than a depth signing for the Sabres, as Whitmore is likely to spend most of next season in the minors, where he will provide plenty of offensive depth for Portland.
