Wild Re-Sign Goaltender Harding to One-Year Deal

The Minnesota Wild announced on Wednesday that they have re-signed goaltender Josh Harding to a one-year contract. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. In 25 games last season with the Wild, he posted a 9-12-0 record, one shutout, a 3.05 GAA, and a .905 save percentage. Not a bad signing for the Wild, as Harding has always been a solid backup goaltender for the team. He will play backup once again to Niklas Backstrom next season, but has lots of potential to become a starting goalie. If the Wild fall out of the playoff race next season, Harding's name will surely pop up in trade rumors close to the trade deadline. He will also be an unrestricted free agent next season, so there will likely be lots of interest in him should he hit the market on July 1, 2011.
